Attorney Brant J. Stogner Of Abraham Watkins Elected To American Board Of Trial Advocates

Posted on October 26, 2015 by Larry Bodine

Houston Attorney Brant Stogner Named to Super Lawyers 2015Houston personal injury lawyer Brant J. Stogner of Abraham, Watkins, Nichols, Sorrels, Agosto & Friend was introduced as a new member of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) at the Houston chapter’s annual dinner on October 24.

ABOTA is an invitation-only organization focused on improving the quality of the judicial system. It advocates for stricter ethical and technical litigation standards and develops educational programs for the public about the fundamental American right to a trial by jury. Individuals invited into membership are experienced trial attorneys who exhibit high personal character and hold an outstanding reputation among their peers.

Stogner, who is also a member of The National Trial Lawyers Top 100 Lawyers, is one of nine attorneys in the Houston area invited to join ABOTA this year. This recognition in part acknowledges his work ethic, skill and experience. He has been a trial lawyer at Abraham Watkins since 2008, trying numerous personal injury cases to verdict. In one of those cases in 2009, he won the largest workplace injury verdict in Texas that year, more than $20 million.

Stogner was board certified in personal injury trial law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization within his first five years of practice, an unusual accomplishment as most young lawyers do not have the trial experience to even register for the examination. In law school, Stogner won the ATLA national championship in mock trial, won multiple state and regional championships in both mock trial and moot court, and won multiple best speaker awards.

He has been recognized by many legal publications and organizations, including:

  • Texas Super Lawyers, Super Lawyers and Texas Monthly magazines, 2013-2015
  • Nation’s Top One Percent, National Association of Distinguished Counsel, 2015
  • Top 40 Under 40, The National Trial Lawyers Association, 2014-2015
  • Top Lawyers list, Personal Injury, Houstonia magazine, 2014
  • Top Lawyers list, Personal Injury, Insurance, Consumer Protection, Houstonia magazine, 2013
  • Texas Rising Stars, Texas Monthly, 2011-2013

In his legal practice, Stogner represents plaintiffs almost exclusively in serious personal injury matters. He also handles cases involving defective products, commercial disputes, and insurance bad faith claims. In the course of his legal career, he has helped hundreds of people obtain justice after suffering injury because of another’s negligence or wrongdoing.

Stogner is a highly valued member of the legal team at Abraham, Watkins, Nichols, Sorrels, Agosto & Friend. Since 1951, Abraham Watkins has helped clients throughout Texas and beyond in cases involving serious personal injuries and business litigation disputes. As the oldest personal injury law firm in Texas, Abraham Watkins is known for exceptional legal services that help clients during challenging times in their lives.
