Brad was born in St. Cloud, Minnesota, where he lived with his family until he graduated from St. Cloud State University. Brad started his professional career as an armor officer in the United States Army in 2004. During his time as an active duty armor officer, Brad deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom for twenty-four months over two tours. After serving in Iraq the second time, Brad was given the opportunity to command a tank company at Ft. Hood, Texas. Going to law school and becoming a lawyer had been a lifelong dream for Brad. After command, Brad left the active duty Army to attend law and business school at Texas Tech University.
In 2013, Brad accepted a commission as an Air Force attorney and moved to Alaska to continue his military journey.
While serving as an Air Force attorney, Brad had the opportunity to gain invaluable litigation experience as a criminal prosecutor. Brad continued to hone his litigation capabilities by attending courses such as Advance Trial Advocacy Training and Sex Crimes Investigator Training Program. In a very short period, Brad and his family fell in love with Alaska. While living in Alaska, Brad realized that many Alaskans face tough legal challenges that can be solved with the help of an attorney. The problem is that many everyday people cannot afford the services of most attorneys, so Brad opened The Law Office of Bradly A. Carlson, L.L.C. to help provide legal solutions to everyday people in a cost-effective manner.

As a military prosecutor, Brad’s passion, experience, and training made him a relentless trial attorney while representing the United States, which resulted in securing convictions in over ninety percent of his criminal cases and more than fifty years of jail time for military members convicted of violating the Uniform Code of Military Justice. Brad also worked tirelessly to help military members and dependents resolve a variety of complex legal issues, such as being subject to unfair trade practices, predatory lending, or fighting to uphold their rights under the Servicemembers Civil Relief Act. Since starting The Law Office of Bradly A. Carlson, L.L.C., Brad has a continued record of success by providing clients with legal solutions in the following areas: criminal appeals, criminal defense, debt collection defense, military divorce, estate planning, and child custody. Moreover, Brad has provided local businesses with cost-effective risk management and litigation solutions.
After completing his active duty military obligation in 2018, Brad returned to Alaska with his family and is now practicing law full-time throughout the state.
Brad remains active in the community by serving as a part-time military attorney in the reserve component and being actively involved in many community organizations.
