Cameron J. Tober is an Associate Attorney at Taxman, Pollock, Murray & Bekkerman, LLC. From a family of military veterans and public servants, Cameron believes there is no substitute for hard work, nor greater service than fighting for those in need.

Originally from St. Louis, Cameron is licensed to practice law in both Illinois and Missouri, and in 2021 and 2022 he was named a Top 40 Under 40 Chicago plaintiff’s attorney by the National Trial Lawyers. For the year 2023, Cameron was selected as a Super Lawyers Illinois Rising Star, an honor awarded only 2.5% of qualifying attorneys. Prior to joining TPMB, Cameron practiced at a Chicagoland personal injury firm where he represented clients in a wide range of cases including motor vehicle collisions, trip/slip and falls, nursing home neglect, medical malpractice, construction negligence, civil rights violations, police misconduct and more.

He has successfully secured millions in settlements, awards, and verdicts on behalf of his clients. Cameron is a member of the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association, and the Chicago Bar Association. His strong work ethic and compassionate outlook make him attentive to clients’ needs and allow him to approach each case with precision and tirelessness.

Cameron obtained his law degree from Loyola University Chicago. While in law school he clerked for the Cook County Public Defender’s Office with the Homicide Task Force. Cameron also obtained his Rule 711 license and worked for the Loyola University Veteran’s Clinic where he was an advocate for military veterans on various family law matters. He graduated with a special certification in advocacy for his focus on litigation and dispute resolution.

Outside of work Cameron is a devoted Dodger baseball fan, enjoys being active with his fiancé and their dog, and cherishes time spent with family.

Cameron’s recent verdict and settlement highlights include:

  • Handled victorious appeal to the Illinois Supreme Court in the case of Robinson v. Village of Sauk Village, 2022 IL 127236. The Supreme Court rendered a unanimous opinion which effectively curtailed an Illinois police immunity statute invoked by Defendant officers in a police chase case.
  • Third-chaired medical malpractice trial which resulted in a record 1.36-million-dollar verdict for a 98-year-old who was prescribed the wrong dosage of blood thinner medication resulting in an internal bleed.
  • Negotiated a $930,000.00 settlement against a medical transport company for failure to secure a patient’s wheelchair within a transport vehicle resulting in a fall. Client sustained a fractured vertebra and required surgery.
  • Negotiated a $450,000.00 settlement for the combined policy limits of multiple at fault drivers in a multi-car rear-end collision which resulted in spinal surgery for the Plaintiff.
