David F. Edwards, Esq. is an Associate Attorney on the RTRLAW Personal Injury Protection (PIP) team, handling all aspects of PIP auto insurance coverage, including filing lawsuits against insurance companies to collect medical bills on behalf of providers who were either not paid or underpaid the amount billed.
Prior to joining RTRLAW, Mr. Edwards litigated PIP cases for both plaintiffs (medical entities) and defendants (insurance companies), and practiced as an Associate in Commercial Litigation-based firms, both defending and prosecuting numerous businesses.
Following the BP Oil Spill in 2010, Mr. Edwards established BlackWave Recovery, a company that successfully advocated for and recovered over a million dollars in payouts for individuals and businesses affected by the spill.
With his extensive experience on both sides of the litigation spectrum and broad exposure to commercial litigation, Mr. Edwards has developed a competitive perspective litigating against insurance companies, giving RTRLAW’s PIP Team an advantage in their pursuit of justice for their clients.
While attending Florida State University’s College of Law, Mr. Edwards concurrently completed his Master of Business Administration degree in FSU’s College of Business, being only one of three in his law school class of 286 students to do so. While completing his degrees, Mr. Edwards received a satellite appointment in the Economic Crimes Unit in the Office of the Florida Attorney General, working in the unit until graduation.
He is a member of The Florida Bar and the U.S. District Court – Southern District of Florida.
