David Wool specializes in innovative and creative strategies to win high stakes cases at both the trial and appellate levels. The breadth of Mr. Wool’s practice spans from toxic torts to pharmaceutical and medical device cases. Recently, Mr. Wool helped secure a $26 million verdict as trial counsel in Hardeman v. Monsanto Company, the first federal trial involving claims that Roundup caused non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. Mr. Wool served as lead counsel for the appeal of Hardeman before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, where he achieved a complete win on both federal preemption and Daubert challenges.

Adept in the courtroom and working alongside co-counsel, Mr. Wool has served as co-lead counsel in a Massachusetts state court consolidation of thousands of claims involving defectively designed hernia mesh. Previously, Mr. Wool was appointed to the Plaintiff’s Steering Committee in multi-district litigation (MDL) 2642, In Re Fluoroquinolone Products Liability Litigation, by the Honorable John R. Tunheim to represent thousands of plaintiffs suffering from permanent and debilitating peripheral neuropathy.

In recognition of Mr. Wool’s successes, Mr. Wool was selected as one of Law360’s top attorneys under 40 for product’s liability. He is routinely listed as on of the National Trial lawyers “Top 40 under 40”. The Colorado Trial Lawyers’ Association also awarded Hardeman as the Case of the Year in 2019. Mr. Wool is a frequent lecturer on many of the cutting-edge topics in complex scientific and product liability cases including the interplay between regulatory agencies and tort suits, preemption, and complicated expert admissibility issues.

Mr. Wool is graduate of Colorado College and Vanderbilt University Law School.
