Born and raised in the Midwest, Ted attended Miami University and graduated with a B.A. in Political Science, and a Minor in Entrepreneurship. Following college, Ted relocated to the Lowcountry in 2010 hoping to make it his permanent home._

Ted attended the Charleston School of Law and graduated with his Juris Doctorate in 2013. While in law school, Ted was elected as an Editor for the Federal Courts Law Review. Additionally, he helped found the school's Trial Advocacy Board and served as one its first executive board members while also competing around the country in mock trial competitions. During law school, he gained vital legal experience working as a Federal Judicial Law Clerk for the Honorable Karen K. Caldwell in the Eastern District of Kentucky and as a Research Assistant for Law Professor Miller W. Shealy. Ted also excelled academically, making Dean's List and winning CALI awards in his Admiralty Law and Mass Torts Seminar classes.

Following law school, Ted was admitted to practice law in South Carolina and soon after accepted a position to work as an Assistant Solicitor for Ninth Circuit Solicitor Scarlett Wilson in her Charleston office. Ted started his career as an Assistant Solicitor prosecuting a wide range of misdemeanor and low level felony offenses ranging from property crimes to DUI's to drug possession. It was during this time that Ted began honing his trial and litigation skills. After several successful trials as lead counsel while maintaining a high conviction rate, Ted's caseload quickly shifted towards more serious cases. Ted was elevated to prosecuting primarily violent crime cases including Murder, Armed Robbery, and Felony DUI. Ted also served as the lead Animal Cruelty Prosecutor for Charleston County. Ted served as lead counsel in several high-profile cases including the Murder of Eric Brantley, the Felony DUI death of nine year old Da'Vieona Hamilton, and the animal cruelty abuse case of Caitlyn The Dog.

In December 2018, Ted left the Solicitor's Office and joined two of his legal mentors as a founding Partner of Kidd Corvey & Simpson, LLC. During his time at the Solicitor's Office, Ted took great pride in serving the Charleston community as a trial prosecutor and hopes to continue serving while in private practice by helping the injured and those who have lost their way get back on their feet. Ted's practice will primarily focus on Personal Injury, Criminal Defense, DUI Defense, General Litigation, and Family Law.

Ted lives on John's Island with his wife, Danielle, and their dogs Lucy, Caitlyn, and Sullivan. In his free time, Ted is an avid sports fan, he enjoys golfing, being on the water, and spending time with his wife and their dogs exploring the Lowcountry.
