Emily Strand is an associate attorney at Pitaro & Fumo Chtd. Her primary practice areas are criminal defense, juvenile delinquency, and attorney/judicial ethics cases. Emily has been recognized by the National Trial Lawyers as one of the top Forty Under Forty for her work in Criminal Defense.
Originally from Salt Lake City, Utah, Emily attended the University of Portland where she earned Bachelors degrees in both psychology and sociology. Emily moved to Las Vegas in 2015 to attend the William S. Boyd School of Law at UNLV. She graduated in 2019 with highest pro bono honors.
In addition to her work as an attorney, Emily has also served as both a mediator and truancy diversion judge in the Eighth Judicial District Family Court. She also serves as eviction mediator in the Las Vegas Justice Court.
Emily has a strong dedication to representing underserved communities and regularly provides pro-bono representation to needy clients. She has been recognized for her volunteer work by the Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada, the UNLV Kids’ Court School, and was named one of the best Public Interest Lawyers in Las Vegas in 2021.
When she’s not working or volunteering, Emily enjoys learning new recipes, gaming with friends, traveling to new places, and spending time with her family, including her rescue animals.
