In 2011, after practicing law for a decade in Santa Fe and Albuquerque, Ms. Cruz decided it was time to return to Northern New Mexico where she was raised and educated. She founded the Cruz Law Office, LLC in the summer of 2011 with the principal objective of providing the highest quality legal services to her clients.
Ms. Cruz has developed vast experience in the arena of litigation having practiced law for over twenty years. She regularly appears before New Mexico's state and federal courts both at the trial and appellate levels. She also has experience in New Mexico's tribal court system.
In personal injury cases, Ms. Cruz fights to protect clients who have suffered severe physical injuries and families who have lost loved ones due to the negligence of others.
In addition, she has developed a strong working knowledge of administrative proceedings having handled over 200 matters before various agencies including the New Mexico Human Rights Bureau, Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, New Mexico Unemployment Compensation Bureau, and New Mexico Wage and Hour Bureau.
She brings a balanced approached to litigation on account of the fact that she has represented both plaintiffs and defendants in civil matters. She can manage all aspects of litigation from initial investigations/fact finding, discovery, motion practice, settlement negotiations and trial.
In addition, Ms. Cruz serves as a guardian ad litem and mediator in civil litigation.
Ms. Cruz has received recognition from national and state organizations for her commitment to the legal profession. She is well-respected in the legal community and has been recognized for being professional, well-prepared, and an excellent advocate.
In 2020, she served as President of the State Bar of New Mexico and currently is completing her term as Immediate Past President. In addition, she recently was appointed to serve on the Executive Council of the National Council of Bar Presidents.
