Hala is licensed to practice law in the State and Federal Courts of New Jersey. She is also a licensed Pennsylvania State Attorney. She obtained her Juris Doctor degree with Honors from Seton Hall University School of Law in 1993, where she was also awarded the distinction of Best Oral Argument in Moot Court Competition. Her undergraduate degree, also with honors, was obtained from Rutgers University with a degree of Bachelor of Arts in 1989.
Recognized for her ability, integrity, and commitment to public service, in addition to running a successful personal injury practice, Hala was appointed by Mayor Parisi and served as a Public defender for the Borough of Englewood Cliffs from 1996 to 2004. Thereafter, she was appointed as the Board of Health Attorney from 2004 to 2009.

Amongst those is a car accident case wherein the damage to the vehicle was only $200.00 and the injury was only a disc bulge. Hala tried this case and obtained a $300, 000.00 verdict for her client. She also litigated a complex jurisdiction issue related to an automobile accident that occurred overseas. She took the case to the New Jersey Supreme Court, which rendered a favorable decision that ultimately resulted in an eleven million dollar settlement.
