Jason Larey is an associate attorney and Accredited-VA Attorney at The Downs Law Group in the firm’s Miami office and practices in the area of toxic tort litigation and personal injury. Before joining The Downs Law Group, Jason started his career in environmental contracting for the oil and gas industry where he gained extensive background in environmental health and occupational safety, particularly in the field of environmental remediation and oil terminal maintenance in several states along the Gulf Coast. As a former environmental contractor and consultant, he developed unique experience acting as safety supervisor to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and by drafting numerous health and workplace safety policies.
Mr. Larey was born and raised in Shreveport, Louisiana and earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Environmental Studies from Florida International University. After graduating with honors, he went on to receive his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Miami School of Law, where he was a member of the Charles C. Papy, Jr. Moot Court board and competed in various national workers’ compensation and constitutional law competitions. Mr. Larey has also served as an assistant debate coach to several high school debate teams in Florida, Texas and Louisiana.
Outside of his career, Mr. Larey considers himself a diving enthusiast and spends much of his time enjoying what Miami has to offer.
