John “JJ” Sauve is a Senior Associate serving western North Carolina from King Law’s Columbus and Forest City locations. JJ brings over a decade of public service experience to representing his clients in a broad array of matters, however he focuses his practice on criminal litigation. JJ served as a firefighter and law enforcement officer for a decade before becoming a prosecutor, general counsel for several public safety organizations, and then joining King Law.
JJ has worked on matters ranging from traffic violations to first degree murders, and everything in between. In the civil realm, JJ has experience working with family law clients and advising organizations on risk management and employment matters.
JJ earned his bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and Criminal Justice from Waldorf University in 2015, his Juris Doctor from Charlotte School of Law in 2017, and his Masters in Public Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2021.
When JJ isn’t representing his clients here at King, he volunteers on several boards including the N.C. Bar Association Judicial Independence and Integrity and Communications Committees, the Polk County Juvenile Crime Prevention Council, and the Foothills Humane Society. At home JJ is married to Nikki, a local real estate agent, and they have two young children.
