Justin M. Carmichael is an experienced criminal defense trial attorney dedicated to going above and beyond to advance his clients’ interests and achieve their goals. Mr. Carmichael has extensive criminal trial experience, handling cases ranging from misdemeanor offenses to high level felonies, including DWI, drug charges, sex crimes, theft, and crimes of violence.
Mr. Carmichael received his bachelor’s degree in philosophy from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, where he honed his argument and debate skills as a member of the school’s Ethics Bowl Team. Mr. Carmichael was also a member of the Phi Sigma Tau International Honor Society in Philosophy.
Mr. Carmichael received his law degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Law, where he graduated with honors. He was a member of the University of Cincinnati Law Review and served as a Senior Articles Editor for the Human Rights Quarterly. Mr. Carmichael was also a member of the school’s Criminal Law Society, and participated in the Domestic Violence Protective Order Clinic, where he gained significant court room experience prior to graduation.
After receiving his law degree, Mr. Carmichael worked for the Hamilton County Public Defender’s Office in Cincinnati, Ohio, where he gained extensive trial experience and developed a passion for client-centered, results driven representation that he has carried with him to the private sector. Mr. Carmichael later relocated to the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, where he has continued his work as a zealous criminal defense attorney, representing hundreds of clients in criminal proceedings throughout the state of Texas.
Mr. Carmichael is a member of the State Bar of Texas and is licensed to practice law in all Texas State Courts, as well as the Federal Court Eastern District of Texas. He is also a member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, and Dallas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association.
