Kate Hastings Winterland is an attorney at the Chandler office of Hastings & Hastings. A proud Arizona native, Kate graduated from Arizona State University’s W.P. Carey School of Business with a B.S. in Economics. After college, and before attending law school, Kate moved to New York City to study Classic Culinary Arts at the French Culinary Institute (now known as the International Culinary Center). After briefly working in New York’s bustling restaurant industry, Kate moved back to Arizona to attend law school.
During her time in law school, Kate was certified as a Mediator and worked in the Maricopa County Justice Courts mediating civil disputes, including misdemeanors. Additionally, Kate earned the CALI award in Evidence (the highest grade in the class) and received multiple merit scholarships. In her last year of law school, Kate worked as a teaching assistant for first-year Contracts I & II. Kate was admitted to practice law by the State Bar of Arizona in 2020. Kate is an active member of the Arizona Association for Justice.
Kate lives in the East Valley with her husband, son, and their many pets. When not in the office, Kate can be found outside (even in Arizona’s summers) with her husband in the garden, on a hiking trail, or camping in Northern Arizona. Kate enjoys spending time with her family, cooking, camping, hiking, practicing yoga, and working out to Shaun T.
Kate takes immense pride in the fact that Hastings & Hastings has been serving and fighting for injured victims in Arizona for over 40 years, all at a discount fee. Kate’s core belief is that attorneys who charge 1/3 or more are greedy and do not have their client’s best interests at heart. Kate believes in fighting aggressively for every injured Arizonan at a fair fee, and 1/3 or more is not fair.
