After practicing criminal defense, almost exclusively, for 27 years, I have discovered that even today, I feel I offer a personal interest in my client's cases - they still aren't just "numbers" to me. Criminal defense has become, apparently, the "go to" type of law to practice for anyone who needs money on the front end, because we charge flat fees and (attempt) to get our money up front. Unfortunately, I see, too frequently these days, attorneys who don't know the law and don't understand that we are dealing with peoples' lives as criminal defense attorneys - their criminal histories, their driver's licenses, and potentially their entire futures - they are just looking for a quick dime to pay the bills.
I am dedicated to helping my clients through a difficult time, and by knowing the law intimately, and caring about the outcome, I feel I still have the caring factor that is only found among the attorneys who I know have done criminal defense for a long time and who are truly dedicated to this "niche" of the legal field.Â
