Lynn R. Johnson, a member and partner in the firm since 1970, is nationally recognized as a trial lawyer and for his lifelong devotion to the protection of individual rights and the enforcement of individual and corporate responsibility. As a trial lawyer, he has devoted his career to representing individual by fighting for their right to safe products, safe health care, and safe lives through the civil justice system.

Raised on the family farm in western Kansas, Lynn learned the importance of individual responsibility. He learned early on to be responsible and to take responsibility for his own conduct. If something that he did had an impact on someone else, he took responsibility for it. That basic concept directly related to Lynn's work as a trial lawyer protecting the rights of individual consumers when they are injured by the irresponsible conduct of others.

Lynn's work for individual consumers has led to responsibilities and opportunities outside the firm, too. He was elected by Kansas attorneys in 1993 to chair the Kansas Supreme Court Nominating Commission. When vacancies occur on the Kansas Supreme Court or the Kansas Court of Appeals, the governor must choose the next justice or judge from three nominees chosen by the nominating commission.

Lynn is listed in every edition of The Best Lawyers in America since 1987. His work has been further recognized by fellowships in the prestigious International Academy of Trial Lawyers, American College of Trial Lawyers, The Inner Circle of Trial Advocates, and the American Board of Trial Advocates. A complete list of his professional activities is listed on the back.

Lynn's formal education - which began in a one-room schoolhouse - led to an undergraduate degree from Kansas State University and a juris Doctorate with honors from Washburn University School of Law. He is a life member of the alumni associations of both universities. He is currently serving as president of the Washburn Law School Association. Lynn enjoys basketball, biking, golf, tennis, skiing and scuba diving. He is married to Jacqueline Lovelace; they have one son, William Randolph (Randy) Lovelace Johnson.

Lynn and his brother and sister still own the family farm.
