Magi Rodriguez is a bilingual attorney who devotes her legal practice to representing Spanish-speaking individuals and families who have been injured or lost loved ones in car accidents, trucking accidents, workplace accidents and other instances of negligence. Magi believes that an effective attorney must have an unfailing dedication to clients and to seeking justice on their behalf.
Prior to joining Contigo Centro Legal, Magi served as a law clerk for the Honorable Justine E. Del Muro in the 16th Circuit Court of Jackson County, MO. As a law clerk, Magi managed a high-volume docket of more than 200 civil cases. She was responsible for reviewing civil motions; performing legal research; drafting orders; and presenting evidence and legal arguments to assist the Judge in resolving legal issues in pending motions.
Magi has always felt it her calling and responsibility to advocate on behalf of marginalized communities. While working for the Heartland Center for Jobs and Freedom, Magi led the Eviction Defense team where she zealously fought for tenant rights; helped tenants understand their legal rights; and created action plans for tenants facing eviction and other housing issues.
Magi is a 2018 graduate of the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law. During law school, she interned with the Midwest Innocence Project and Wrongful Convictions Clinic, where she was part of a team that helped free three men after a combined 60 years in prison. As a law student, Magi also clerked at immigration law firms where she primarily focused on asylum claims.Â
Born and raised in the southernmost tip of Texas, Magi has spent more than half her life in the Midwest. She and her husband have chosen to raise their family in the Kansas City area. Magi brings to Contigo an unparalleled work ethic and passion for fighting for injured clients and their families. She is licensed to practice law in the state of Missouri.
