Prior to founding Stahl Legal LLC, Marc was a public defender in Chicago for more than two decades. He was promoted to a position on the Cook County Public Defender’s Homicide Task Force, representing clients charged in the most serious cases including death penalty litigation. Marc was the Chief of the Felony Trial Division for his last five years in the office, a position in which he was responsible for attorneys staffing 34 courtrooms at the Leighton Criminal Courts Building at 26th Street and California Avenue in Chicago.
Marc has taught law students and attorneys through the University of Chicago Law School, Illinois State Appellate Defender, Cook County Public Defender, and Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education. He is a member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, Illinois Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, Decalogue Society, Chicago Bar Association, and Illinois State Bar Association. He graduated from Georgetown University and the University of Chicago Law School. You will not find a better combination of experience and education to defend you in any criminal case.
