Margarita “Maggie” Arellano is a lawyer in the firm’s Toxic Torts Section, where she handles Camp Lejeune-related claims.

Before joining Beasley Allen, Maggie was an Alabama Court of Civil Appeals Staff Attorney. She also served as an Assistant District Attorney in Elmore County, Alabama.

Background

The southern California native has enjoyed getting to know and experience different parts of the country. At 14, she attended Phillips Academy in Andover, Massachusetts. While at Phillips, she visited every state on the East Coast and completed a study abroad program in Paris, France. 

Maggie now resides in Montgomery, Alabama, with her husband and two young children. The family enjoys children’s museum and zoo visits, walks, and picnics at the park. Their favorite vacation destinations always include sand and surf.  

Professional Associations

Maggie is a member of the Alabama State Bar, District of Columbia (D.C.) Bar, and National Institute for Trial Advocacy (NITA).

Education

Maggie graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in neuroscience and biology from Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts. In December 2020, she earned her Juris Doctor from Mississippi College School of Law, graduating magna cum laude. She made the Dean’s List and served on the Mississippi College Law Review. 

During law school, Maggie was the Moot Court Board Vice Chair and was selected to compete in trial, appellate, and arbitration competitions. As a Moot Court Board member, she participated in pretrial and trial seminars focused on litigation and trial strategies.

In her second year of law school, Maggie received her limited-practice card. She worked as a summer associate for a private law firm in Jackson, Mississippi, helping prepare for trials, oral arguments, and mediations.

Community Involvement

Maggie takes pride in mentoring law students and judging student trial competitions.
