Attorney Matthew Nieten was born in Florida and raised primarily right here in the Houston area. Prior to joining Matt Mahoney Law, Matthew worked in Insurance Defense at a major international law firm. Matthew also served as in-house litigation counsel and risk manager for a major hospital system in the Houston area.
Prior to becoming an attorney, Matthew worked at a national personal injury firm as a law clerk pursuing compensation for those harmed through faulty medical equipment and dangerous pharmaceutical drugs. While there, he managed and oversaw the filing of cases, engaged in discovery practice, and marshalled evidence for establishing liability in multiple pending litigations. Before that, he worked as a paralegal in a small law office that provided mainly family law services and some criminal defense.
Matthew is an Army Veteran who served his country proudly as a medic. Matthew uses his unique blend of legal and medical experience and knowledge to fight for his clients every day. As a prior in-house and insurance defense attorney, he knows how these businesses operate and how to maximize the return for his injured clients.
Matthew enjoys spending time with his family and volunteering with local scouting organizations.
