Villa Park,
 IL

Maurice was born in Chicago, Illinois and grew up in the Chicagoland area before joining the United States Army in 2002 following his completion of high school. He graduated from Texas Southern University’s Thurgood Marshall School of Law in 2018.

Prior to joining DDT Law Group, LLC, Maurice served in the United States Army for 8 years and earned a Bronze Star Service Medal after completing two combat tours in Iraq. Maurice then worked as a police officer, in St. Louis County, Missouri, for four years while obtaining his bachelors’ degree in criminal justice. After the 2014 events in Ferguson, Missouri, he chose to attend law school where he gained a passion for litigation and advocacy.

After attending law school, Maurice worked as a criminal records staff attorney with Cabrini Green Legal Aid and went on to become a prosecutor at the Cook County State’sAttorney’s Office. As a prosecutor, Maurice gained a wealth of litigation experience and successfully tried numerous bench trials along with various criminal and civil hearings.

Drawing upon his previous roles and experience, Maurice has realized his niche as a criminal defense attorney representing and defending his clients that have been charged with various traffic, misdemeanor and felony offenses. He embraces the James Baldwin quote, '"Not everything that is faced can be changed. But nothing can be changed until it is faced" as he seeks to be the much needed change we all desire to see within a notorious criminal justice system.
