Melissa Montenegro is an associate at Cotchett, Pitre & McCarthy, LLP, where she focuses on employment law, consumer protection class actions, and commercial litigation.
Prior to joining CPM, Melissa worked at a municipal law firm in Walnut Creek, where she advised and litigated on behalf of municipalities on criminal, administrative, civil municipal code enforcement, and police and public safety matters. Melissa was also the inaugural Christopher M. Patti Legal Fellow at the University of California, Office of the President.
Melissa is a Board Member of the Grande Center for Education and Economic Opportunity, a non-profit organization that seeks to address the root causes of migration by educating rural communities of El Salvador to thrive in the digital global economy.
Melissa graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, School of Law. She received her B.A. in History and Economics from San Jose State University.
