Born on March 2, 1977, in Brooklyn, New York, Mr. Gervasi earned a Bachelor of the Arts in American History from the State University of New York at Albany in 1999. In 2002, he earned a Juris Doctorate from New York Law School and joined Scamardella, Gervasi, Thomson & Kasegrande, P.C. He is admitted to practice in the New York State Courts; the New Jersey State Courts; the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York; the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York; and the Supreme Court of the United States.
Mr. Gervasi is the Managing Associate of the firm’s Litigation Department, litigating commercial and business disputes, personal injury cases, wrongful death cases, business entity dissolutions, estate matters, insurance coverage disputes, land disputes, and appeals. His dedication to clients’ causes and his researched arguments make him an effective advocate for the firm’s clients. Mr. Gervasi has successfully litigated several complex cases resulting in substantial verdicts and settlements.
Since 2012, Mr. Gervasi has served as Chair of the South Shore YMCA’s Board of Managers and on the Staten Island YMCA Board of Directors. In June 2014, Mr. Gervasi was elected as a Director of the Richmond County Bar Association. He also serves as the Attorney Advisor to New Dorp High School’s Law Program where he speaks to law classes and helps prepare students for citywide Moot Court and Mock Trial competitions. He has co-authored several articles published in the Richmond County Bar Association’s Law Journal. Mr. Gervasi is an active United States Soccer Federation certified Referee and a certified Referee Instructor. He is also a member of New York State Bar Association; Richmond County Bar Association; New York State Association of Trial Lawyers; American Association of Justice; and the American Bar Association (Litigation Section).
