Monica started her criminal law practice at the Denton County District Attorneys Office where she became Chief of County Criminal Court Number 5. In 2015, Monica joined one of the largest criminal defense firms in Denton County where she represented hundreds of clients facing misdemeanor and felony charges. Whether your case involves mitigation and damage control or a fight to ensure justice, Monica has garnered the trust and confidence of those she represents and works tirelessly to secure the very best possible outcome. In her twelve years of practice, her experience includes over 80 jury trials with numerous acquittals and countless dismissals.
Monica comes from a long line of criminal defense attorneys in San Antonio. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Dallas in Irving, Texas and her law degree from Ave Maria School of Law in Naples, Florida. While in law school, Monica continued pursuing her passion for criminal defense by engaging in an internship with the U.S Federal Public Defender's Office for the Middle District of Florida. In 2020, Monica moved back to her hometown of Boerne where she lives with her husband David, a Partner at Thompson Coe Cousins and Irons. They are the proud parents of four boys, Davey, Daniel+, Gabriel, and Charlie. When Monica is not in the courtroom, you can find her at the local CYO fields or chasing the boys on their family ranch.
