Rusty Smith has over 20 years of experience as a trial litigator. Rusty grew up in Ardmore, OK, where he learned how important it is to work hard and work together. Rusty has been a lifelong Sooners fan, and he graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 1999 before earning his law degree from OU in 2002.
Professionally, Rusty specializes in complex litigation and insurance, having spent the first 8 years of his career defending insurance companies. Since 2010, Rusty has built a successful trial plaintiff practice, having won several significant jury verdicts and appeals for both private clients and corporations. He's handled cases in almost 70 counties across the state, also litigating in multiple federal jurisdictions across the country.Â
Rusty's practice centers on life-changing accidents, catastrophic injuries, wrongful death cases, and civil litigation matters. He is a member of the Oklahoma Association of Justice, serving as a member of the advisory board in 2020. In 2022, Rusty was selected to Super Lawyers, an honor going to the top 5% of attorneys in the state.
Rusty is licensed to practice in all state courts in Oklahoma, and the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern, Northern, and Western districts of Oklahoma. Rusty is also qualified to practice in the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit, the Cherokee Nation Bar Association, and the Muscogee (Creek) Nation Bar Association.
