Sharon started working as an attorney in the Appellate Division of the Cook County State’s Attorney’s office. While there, Sharon argued and won a case in front of the Illinois Supreme Court upholding the constitutionality of the Illinois Child Pornography Statute. During her time in the Appellate Division, Sharon only “lost” one case, and that was a case the office had to confess error in. Opinions were published in 22 of Sharon’s appellate cases. Sharon also served as a supervisor of the appellate work done by other Assistant State’s Attorneys. Sharon then transferred to the 4th Judicial District of Cook County, where she served as a prosecutor in the misdemeanor courtrooms.
Sharon took time off from her career to raise her three children. During that time she was active serving on boards of non-profits and doing other volunteer work. She eventually chose to go back to school to obtain her Masters in Clinical Psychology. As a professional counselor, Sharon worked for 7 years as a Sexual Assault Counselor. After that, she built her knowledge and experience working as a Clinical Therapist at Linden Oaks Hospital at the outpatient level. In 2014, Sharon started a private practice, Process & Solutions Counseling, LLC. In 2017, Sharon joined her husband in his law practice, bringing together her experience in the fields of both psychology and law. Her knowledge of human emotion and behavior have proved invaluable in developing cases for trial, and in the trial setting itself.
