Sydney Codd

Sydney Codd was inspired to become a legal advocate for people injured by others at an early age. Growing up in a family of lawyers, she saw first-hand how the legal system can be used to help people. Ultimately, she knew where she needed to be—advocating for people who are victims of severe injury or sexual abuse.

Sydney started her legal career as a criminal prosecutor, where she advocated for victims of crimes and tried several cases to verdict. She then went on to represent people who had been injured by the wrongful acts of others, including workplace incidents, nursing home neglect, maritime accidents, and motor vehicle collisions. Sydney believes that, as a lawyer, holding defendants accountable in the courtroom is the ultimate form of advocacy.

At PCVA, Sydney advocates for adult survivors of sexual abuse and others that have suffered severe personal and emotional injuries at the hands of entities such as Catholic Church, the Boy Scouts, foster and group home systems, schools, and more. She dedicates her time and talents to listening carefully to clients and putting them at ease while building their cases. She embraces the role of taking on the pressure of litigation on behalf of her clients, making their pursuit for justice that much easier.

Whether the case settles or is taken to trial, Sydney makes sure that her client’s story is told, and that the legal process is one of healing and closure. She cares about each client’s goals and ensures that their voice is heard. She works relentlessly to hold people and organizations accountable for the irreversible damages they caused or allowed to happen. Her clients acknowledge her sincerity and willingness to take on difficult challenges of litigation head on, knowing that she will empower them and will obtain the best result for them.
