When former client Isaac T. sat down across the table from Tammy Harris to begin his case, he immediately knew that he was in good hands. “Mrs. Tammy was great!” Isaac said, “She sat down and documented everything I told her. She told me what she thought about everything…she made me feel at ease, that I made the right decision. I trusted everyone from the get-go.”

Tammy credits her background in psychology and her compassion for her clients with her ability to make them feel immediately at home and taken care of.

“I’m here to help people in their time of need and The Young Firm’s team stands with me when we have to go to trial because the other side refuses to do what is right for the people we represent. My team is knowledgeable and professional, but most importantly, they understand that the foundation of the work we do is the compassion we have for people hurt in the line of their duties.”

Over the course of her legal career, Tammy has seen clients from all walks of life with all manner of injuries: car accidents, medical malpractice, and the unique sort of injuries that can be found in maritime cases. Through it all, however, her unwavering commitment to her clients’ well-being — both physical and mental — leads her to fight tirelessly for her clients. Tammy is well-acquainted with the emotional and psychological burdens that a physical injury can inflict on someone, and her dedication to the whole person of her clients is immediately and powerfully felt. As a Louisiana native, she feels a kinship with the people she represents and treats them as she would her own family.

Tammy’s husband, Erik, a Cleveland native who works as an environmental engineer, can attest to her powers of persuasion. Despite being a dyed-in-the-wool Browns, Cavs, and Indians fan, Tammy has gradually brought him around to rooting for the Saints, Pelicans, and yes, even the Baby Cakes. When not at work, Tammy and Erik are focused on raising their son Max, walking their (appropriately named) dogs Po-Boy and Nola, and enjoying all the wonderful food, culture, history, art, and — most especially — the music, that makes her proud to be a native New Orleanian.

Tammy D. Harris, a native of New Orleans, graduated from the University of New Orleans with a B.A. in Psychology in 2002. She received her Juris Doctorate in 2005 from the College of Law at Loyola University New Orleans. While in law school Tammy was a member of both the Public Interest Law Society and Loyola Journal of Public Interest Law. Tammy is an active member of the Louisiana State Bar Association, New Orleans Bar Association, American Association for Justice and Louisiana Association for Justice. Since joining The Young Firm, Tammy has represented plaintiffs in a wide variety of personal injury cases, including maritime; medical malpractice; workers’ compensation; and automobile accident cases. She is admitted to practice before all Louisiana State Courts, the U.S. District Courts in the Eastern, Middle and Western Districts of Louisiana and the U.S. Court of Appeals, Fifth Circuit.
