Virginia “Ginny” Whitener is a Milberg Senior Associate involved in a number of practice areas, including environmental litigation, mass torts, class actions, and personal injury.
Ms. Whitener received a Bachelor of Political Theory and Religious Studies from the University of Virginia in 2016. She graduated with honors from the University of Tennessee College of Law in 2020 with a concentration in Advocacy and Dispute Resolution.
While in law school, Ms. Whitener was selected as the Tennessee Bar Association’s Hastings Writing Competition winner and her paper, “Protecting the Jefferson National Forest,” was published in the Environmental Law Section’s Newsletter. She was a member of the National Environmental Moot Court team for which she received the Ogden & Sullivan Best Brief Award for her work on the team’s appellate brief. She was selected by her peers to serve as Chair for the College of Law’s intramural moot court competition, “Advocates’ Prize,” where she wrote a complex and balanced problem that was argued by students in front of a panel of U.S. Court of Appeals judges.
Ms. Whitener served on the executive board of the Tennessee Law Review as an Acquisitions Editor. She earned CALI awards for achieving the highest grade in Trial Practice, Environmental Law & Policy, and Environmental Justice Seminar.
