Anthony P. Sgro is a partner of Sgro & Roger, LLC. After attending the University of San Diego for both his undergraduate education and law school, Mr. Sgro returned to Las Vegas and began practicing primarily in the area of criminal defense. After several years, he started his own practice, becoming a "death qualified" attorney focused on defending those charged with capital murder offenses.
Mr. Sgro uses his unique trial experience to branch out into other areas of law, including personal injury, entertainment, and business law. Since the beginning of his career, Mr. Sgro has tried over 100 jury trials in both the civil and criminal arena. Most notably, Mr. Sgro secured the largest slip and fall personal injury verdict to be awarded against Walgreens corporation, as well as a real estate verdict in excess of $40 million.
Several years ago, Mr. Sgro again expanding his practice to include the representation of various athletes, musicians, and celebrities as general counsel and part owner for Matador Entertainment, LLC, a boutique entertainment company. Almost immediately after Matador's formation, Matador confirmed and routed Prince's 2013 West Coast tour, which spanned 13 U.S. cities. Most recently, with the direction of Mr. Sgro, Matador received the commission to book all the live concerts for the UFC's Fight Week 2014.
Tony Sgro works with David Roger and the LVPPA legal team hand in hand; partner & friend, David Roger joined the Las Vegas Police Protective Association in 2011 and represents members with employment issues before the Labor board. Sgro and Roger now works alongside the PPA as general counsel for members charged with criminal matters during their employment.
Moving forward, Mr. Sgro continues to practice criminal law while expanding his practice to include the booking of personal appearances for MMA fighters, NFL players, and various artists and musicians.
