Ashley received her law degree from the Cumberland School of Law, where she was active in the trial advocacy program. She was a member of Cumberland?s National Trial Team, bringing home the Texas Young Lawyers Association?s National Trial Competition trophy two years in a row. She also received the James H. Roberts ?Best Advocate? Award. In addition to competing on Cumberland?s National Trial Team, Mrs. Peinhardt served as an Honor Court Justice, was a member of the Moot Court Board and a member of the Cumberland Trial Advocacy Executive Board ? as the Director of the James O. Haley Federal Trial Competitions. In the spring of 2010, she was a recipient of the American Board of Trial Advocates Scholarship and became a member of the Order of the Barristers. She was a summer law clerk at Hare Wynn in 2009.

She received her J.D., with a Certificate in Trial Advocacy, in the spring of 2010 and was admitted to practice in the State of Alabama after passing the bar exam. Her practice is concentrated in the areas of complex litigation, catastrophic injuries, wrongful death, medical malpractice, including birth trauma, motor vehicle accidents, including tractor-trailer driving cases, dram shop, nursing home negligence and class actions.

Her first jury trial resulted in a $15 million dollar verdict against a gas station that sold alcohol to minors without checking for an ID. Ashley recently argued this case in front of The Alabama Supreme Court, where the verdict was affirmed, making it the largest damages judgement in 20 years. Recently, as a member of the Hare Wynn trial team in a medical malpractice case in Jefferson County, Alabama, the jury awarded $7.5 million verdict against Brookwood Hospital in a negligence lawsuit brought by a Birmingham couple. In August, 2014, she was a key member of the Hare Wynn trial team in a medical malpractice suit in Walker County, Alabama. The plaintiff was awarded a jury verdict of $4 million.

Ashley was selected by peer review as a 2014 Super Lawyers Rising Star. While up to five percent of the lawyers in the state are named to Super Lawyers, no more than 2.5 percent are named to the Rising Stars list. She has been selected by The National Trial Lawyers as a Top 40 Under 40 Trial Lawyer. She was recently selected as one of Birmingham?s Rising Star Lawyers for 2016 by the Birmingham Business Journal.

She was elected Secretary of the Birmingham Bar Association Young Lawyers Executive Board in 2013-2014. She was also elected to the Birmingham Bar Association Young Lawyers Executive Board in 2011-2012 and 2012-2013, where she is in charge of the Noojin-White 5K Annual Race to the Courthouse.

Ashley has previously coached the Hoover High School Trial Team. Mrs. Peinhardt was named by B-Metro magazine as a ?Rising Star? in the Birmingham Bar in 2012. In 2015 she was selected as 2015 ?Women Who Shape the State?, B-Metro?s ?Top Women Lawyers? in 2015, and in Business Alabama, Top Attorneys in Alabama, as a ?Rising Star. All of these honors acknowledge Mrs. Peinhardt?s legal abilities and commitment to community service.

Ashley is a member of the Leadership Alabama Initiative. She serves as Chair of Public Service on the Alabama Association for Justice Emerging Leaders Board and is a member of Class 5 of the Birmingham Bar Association Future Leaders Forum, where she serves as co-chair on the 2016 committee. She was recently selected to join Class 12 of The Alabama State Bar Leadership Forum and accepted into the Birmingham Inn of Court group.

Ashley?s passion is advocating on behalf of her clients?she relishes the opportunity to gain the trust and confidence of those she serves by understanding the challenges they face daily. She considers it an honor to stand up to big business, insurance companies and large corporations when the individuals she represents cannot stand up for themselves. She cannot imagine doing anything else with her life.
