Brent Ceryes is an Associate at Schochor, Federico and Staton, P.A. Mr. Ceryes received his undergraduate degree in mathematics and economics in 2008 from the University of Maryland, College Park, and his Juris Doctor in 2011, from the University of Maryland School of Law. Mr. Ceryes has distinguished himself as a valuable part of our team, having played an important role in the firm’s $123 million class action settlement with Beebe Medical Center and the Medical Society of Delaware in the Dr. Earl Bradley pedophile pediatrician case, and in the firm’s $190 million class action settlement with The Johns Hopkins Hospital, arising out of the conduct of Nikita Levy, M.D., an obstetrician gynecologist, who surreptitiously videotaped his patients during gynecologic examinations. Mr. Ceryes has also represented individuals in medical negligence matters, and has first and second chair jury trial experience representing plaintiffs in medical malpractice actions. Mr. Ceryes currently represents clients in a variety of mass tort and class action matters, including the representation of individuals exposed to potential bloodborne pathogens in an ambulatory surgery center, the representation of individuals affected by groundwater contamination and air pollution from industrial agriculture operations, and the representation of over 20 counties and municipalities in litigation against the manufacturers and distributors of opioid pain medication. Mr. Ceryes is admitted to practice in Maryland, the District of Columbia, and the United States District Court for the District of Maryland, and has been admitted pro hac in a variety of other jurisdictions.
