Felony Assault With Intent to Do Great Bodily Harm Less Than Murder
Felony Assault by Strangulation or Suffocation

Felony Assault With Intent to Murder
Many other Misdemeanor and Felony Assault Charges

While Michigan felony and misdemeanor charges of CSC, Assault, Assault and Battery, and Domestic Violence are some of the most difficult criminal charges to defend against in Michigan, they can also be some of the most promising for the right attorney.

When you are facing Criminal Sexual Conduct First Degree, Second Degree, Third Degree, Fourth Degree, Assault, Assault and Battery, or Domestic Violence charges under Michigan law, there are always two sides to the story. It is very common that there will be significant, sometimes outcome-determinative differences between your version of the events and your accuser's version of the events.

Fighting CSC, Assault, Assault and Battery, and Domestic Violence charges is not like fighting a drunk driving charge, where a special machine tells the Judge or Jury, with some degree of scientific reliability, whether you are guilty or not. In a CSC, Assault, Assault and Battery, or Domestic Violence case, the key witnesses are humans, not machines; there really are issues worth fighting about! It's your money, your freedom, your future!

At The Law Office of Brian J. Prain, PLLC, we have a real passion for aggressively defending you against charges of Criminal Sexual Conduct and other assaultive crimes.  Before we decided to develop a special focus on this special sub-category of Michigan felony and misdemeanor charges, we had no special focus and handled many different types of charges. After defending against charges such as controlled substances and drunk driving, we learned that in many cases, it could often be difficult to defend our clients because of all the scientific evidence, and the need for expensive expert witness testimony to challenge the government's evidence.

However, we discovered that in Michigan CSC, Assault, Assault and Battery, and Domestic Violence cases, there were an unbelievable number of false accusations from accusers with clear motivations to lie or exaggerate (such as hate, revenge, divorce, child custody, etc.). Quite simply, it hurt to see good, honest, innocent people facing jail, prison, and destroyed futures under these circumstances. This drove us to work exceptionally hard for these particular people.

There is something that snaps inside the mind of the best criminal defense lawyers when they realize that their innocent client is being falsely accused, especially of Criminal Sexual Conduct charges. The senses become heightened. He begins to want to know his client as a human being and as a friend; he begins to care about him or her  he wants to win because he wants to make things fair, make them right. No detail can be overlooked.
