Logan McKechnie was an adjunct professor at Merced College, teaching criminal law and evidence. He has taught at Merced College, San Diego State, Thomas Jefferson School of Law and the National District Attorney's College. He formally practiced in San Diego where he served as an assistant to the San Diego District Attorney and was the attorney for the San Diego Padres while in private practice. He has tried several hundred jury trials, including more than 60 murder cases which included nine death penalty trials. He has served as the Athletic Commissioner for 10 community college sports programs in the Central Valley of California from 1994 to 2016. He was on the State's Athletic Board for six years. As an attorney, he has served on the State Athletic Board's Constitution committee for more than 20 years and was the Chairman of the State Athletic Commission's Disability Board for the California Community College Athletic Association for 20 years. He has lecturedon the legal ramifications of the athletic constitutions and bylaws on a regular basis. He wrotea book each year on coins and produced a regular newsletter about Morgan and Peace dollars for 17 years and is certified in the Superior Court as an expert on American coinage.
