Dan Hoffman is a senior trial attorney with JT Legal Group. He represents plaintiffs in personal injury cases, and he specializes in handling serious injury, wrongful death, and traumatic brain injury cases. During his career Dan has successfully assisted clients in obtaining numerous seven and eight figure settlements and verdicts. For many years Dan has been honored to be a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA), the National Trial Lawyers Association Top 100 Trial Attorneys and Super Lawyers.

Dan has successfully handled personal injury claims involving wrongful deaths, traumatic brain injury, paraplegics and burn victims. In addition, Mr. Hoffman has handled mass tort and other large complex cases, insurance bad faith claims, insurance coverage and construction defect cases.

Mr. Hoffman has litigated cases in state and federal court. In federal court he has handled religious freedom cases, Americans with Disabilities Act cases, insurance bad faith cases, and he has represented California wardens.

Dan settled a case for $10 million on behalf of a young girl who was in her freshman year of college. She was standing on a corner of an intersection when a collision occurred in the intersection. The collision caused one of the cars to go over the curb and strike his client as she was standing on the street corner. Utilizing a structured settlement, the value of the final payout had a value of over $20 million.

Dan was also co-counsel on a case that was tried in defense-oriented Orange County that resulted in an $11 million jury verdict. That case involved a young man who was struck by a car while he was crossing the street on his skateboard.

Dan also successfully settled an insurance coverage/bad faith case on behalf of his client for $7.25 million. The insurance company initially denied coverage, but ultimately conceded coverage on the claim and, after a long battle regarding the amount of damages, the insurance company agreed to pay $7.25 million to resolve the claim.

Dan was co-counsel in a case in downtown Los Angeles where a pedestrian was struck by a bus. Plaintiff elected to waive economic damages in the case because the plaintiff was not in the United States legally. Despite the foregoing, the jury awarded $7 million solely for pain and suffering.

Dan was co-counsel on a case, in defense oriented Van Nuys, in a case that involved an elderly man who had his foot run over by a bus. Plaintiffs’ counsel elected to waive any claim for economic damages. The jury awarded $2.5 million solely for pain and suffering.

After high school Dan elected to serve his country in the United States Army. During his service he was part of the Judge Advocate General (JAG) corps. He was stationed in Korea near the DMZ.
