Mrs. Diandra S. Debrosse Zimmermann, affectionately known as Fu, has spent her career securing justice for individuals and businesses which have been affected by wrongful conduct, through class action, mass tort, and personal injury work. In addition to other significant victories for her clients, Fu served as class counsel in the $15M settlement in the Higher One class action multi-district litigation and as class counsel in a $11M settlement against an Alabama municipality. Prior to joining Zarzaur Mujumdar & Debrosse, Fu had the honor of being partners with Edgar C. Gentle, III, Esq.- one of the premier Special Masters in the nation. Fu also dedicates much of her time to representing individuals who have been injured as a result of defective guns, unsafe products, sexual assault and abuse, and other wrongful conduct. Currently, she is investigating claims, and representing women who ingested Zofran or ondanestron during the first trimester of pregnancy, and is representing children suffering from numerous injuries, including cognitive heart defect, and cleft palate and cleft lip. In addition, Fu is engaged in the prosecution of an ERISA class action involving the alleged wrongful defrauding of employees by their former company, and is investigating and prosecuting class action claims, and personal injury and wrongful death claims, involving sexual assault, defective firearms, environmental toxins, wage and hour violations under the Fair Labor Standards Act, and violations of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, among others. She is recognized for her unique, zealous and diligent representation of her clients- in all of her cases- large or small. Her clients become her family, and she believes that victims deserve a strong, passionate and dedicated voice to fight for what they deserve. Fu has been named Top 40 Under 40 by the National Trial Lawyers. She has been listed as a "Rising Star Super Lawyer" by the Alabama Super Lawyers Magazine for 2015. She has also been rated AV-Preeminent for ethical standards and legal ability, the highest rating available, by Martin-Dale Hubbard. Fu is honored to serve as a member of the Executive Council of the Alabama State Bar, and the Alabama State Board of Bar Commissioners. She was also appointed to the Alabama Access to Justice Commission, and serves as a member the Birmingham Bar Executive Committee, the Board of the American Civil Liberties Union of Alabama, the Alabama Private Investigators Board, Future of the Profession Committee of the Alabama State Bar, and is the former President of the Magic City Bar Association. She is a graduate of both the Alabama State Bar Leadership Forum and the Birmingham Bar Leadership Forum. Born in Brooklyn, New York City, Fu graduated summa cum laude from the City College of the City University of New York in 2001, where she was an Isaacs Fellow, with a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and a minor in Jewish Studies. In 2004, she received her Juris Doctorate from Case Western Reserve School of Law in Cleveland, Ohio, where she was a recipient of a Leadership Grant. Fu has had articles published in the American Trial Lawyer and the Birmingham Bar Bulletin, was featured as a Young Attorney on the Rise by B Metro Magazine, and is often asked to speak on panels, at CLE programming, and has been featured on legal television and radio shows. Fu is a committed yoga practitioner, is fluent in French and Haitian Creole, functional in Spanish, and is learning German. She is the wife of Rene Zimmermann, and the proud mother of two beautiful brilliant daughters.
