Fadi K. Amer immigrated to the United States with his family at the age of 11. He graduated Valedictorian of his high school class and went on to graduate Summa Cum Laude from UCLA. While at UCLA, Mr. Amer founded the United Arab Society, and led efforts to establish dialogue between the Arab and Jewish students on campus. Most notably, Mr. Amer co-founded a class with Rabbi Seidler Feller on The Palestinian-Israeli Conflict, History & Perspectives on Reconciliation. During the summer of his first year of law school at Harvard, Mr. Amer interned with the Honorable Samuel L. Bufford at the United State?s Central District Court in California. During his second year in law school, Mr. Amer joined the Hale & Dorr Legal Clinic where he helped numerous families fight evictions and unsanitary housing conditions. After law school, Mr. Amer joined McDermott Will & Emery, a Chicago based international law firm, as a litigation associate. While there, Mr. Amer worked on numerous cases involving contract disputes, health law (whistle blower cases), environmental law disputes, and many others. Better yet, Mr. Amer took advantage of the fact that McDermott strongly encouraged its associates to take pro bono cases. Mr. Amer worked on numerous cases ranging from advocating civil rights lawsuits, to tenant rights, to providing legal aid to newly relocated victims of Hurricane Katrina. Before starting Law22, Mr. Amer accepted a position at the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Citizenship & Immigration Services as an adjudications officer where he worked on citizenship and adjustment of status petitions.
