Joe Jones joined the team at Sloan, Bagley, Hatcher & Perry Law Firm in 2015. A native of Houston, Texas, Joe is a United States military veteran who earned his Juris Doctorate from South Texas College of Law in 2010. He also possesses a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting, which he earned in 2007 from Texas A&M University. While attending Texas A&M, he studied abroad at the Autonomous University of Barcelona, where he studied Spanish Language and International Studies. He also studied abroad during law school, attending the National University of Ireland at Galway, where he studied international humanitarian law.

Before graduating from law school, Joe contracted with the United States Marine Corps to serve as a Judge Advocate. He graduated from the USMC Officer Candidate School in Quantico, Virginia, where he was commissioned as a second lieutenant in August 2010.

Second Lieutenant Jones and his family moved back to Quantico after passing the Texas Bar Exam in 2011. There, he served as an intern in civil law while waiting to attend The Basic School, a six-month Marine Officer training course. After graduating from The Basic School, he received orders to Marine Corps Air Station New River, where he served as an assistant defense attorney. Later, he attended the Naval Justice School in Newport, Rhode Island, where he was promoted to first lieutenant. After graduation, First Lieutenant Jones received orders to Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune where he initially served as a legal assistance attorney. Eventually, he received another promotion to the rank of captain.

After completing his billet in Legal Assistance, Captain Jones was transferred to the Defense Services Organization to serve as a Defense Attorney. During this time, he represented over sixty Marines and Sailors facing involuntary administrative separation processing and/or criminal prosecution for a variety of criminal charges, including sexual harassment, sexual assault, larceny, battery, hazing, drug charges, murder, and other crimes.

Joe is now based in the Sloan Firm's Houston office and will support the firm as it expands its practice throughout Southeast Texas. He is well equipped to provide legal aid to military veterans, active duty military personnel, and their family members.

Outside of work, Joe enjoys spending time with his wife and two children. He can also often be found cheering on Texas A&M University and Houston sports teams, playing guitar, and hunting.
