Prior to establishing the law firm, John Paul DeVerna was an Assistant District Attorney at the Kings County District Attorney's Office. During his six year tenure as a prosecutor, he achieved success both as an Investigative Attorney and as a Trial Attorney. In February of 2009, while working as an Assistant Disctrict Attorney, Mr. DeVerna was one of two Assistant District Attorneys hand picked by then District Attorney Charles Hynes to join the distinguished Major Narcotics Investigation Bureau (known as "MNIB"). This in depth understanding of how cases start, develop, and are assessed give his clients the confidence that they are in experienced hands. In the Grand Jury, Mr. DeVerna presented well over 100 cases to the Grand Jury of Kings County with a 98% Indictment rate. After two years in the Major Narcotics Investigation Bureau, and his assignment in the Grand Jury, Mr. DeVerna continued his success when he was promoted to Trial Bureau One, where he brought many felony and misdemeanor cases to trial, achieving a 90% conviction rate.
