John Joseph Momot was born on May 30, 1943, in Bayonne, New Jersey. He is the son of John and Cecelia Momot. Mr. Momot is the youngest of three children. He has an older brother and an older sister.  Mr. Momot attended parochial school, at Marist High School, Bayonne, New Jersey, in his youth. He received his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from St. Peters College, Jersey City, New Jersey, in 1965. He also participated in the four-year R.O.T. C. program and was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the United States Army upon graduation. Mr. Momot then went on to earn his Juris Doctorate in 1968 from Seton Hall Law School, Newark, New Jersey. During law school, his service requirements were deferred.  After obtaining his law degree, Mr. Momot went on active duty in the United States Army to serve our country. He served as a Captain in the U.S. Army, Signal Corps, from 1968-70 and is a Vietnam Veteran.  In 1973, Mr. Momot came out west and was able to secure a position as a law clerk for the Honorable Carl J. Christensen in the Eight Judicial District Court, in Clark County, Nevada.  In 1974, Mr. Momot started his law career in the Clark County Public Defender's Office. He then went into private practice and founded the Law Offices of John J. Momot, Esq., in 1976. Over the last 30 years, Mr. Momot has become an accomplished attorney through experience in defending complex criminal cases in both state and federal courts. Mr. Momot has handled cases in the following areas of criminal defense: drugs, sexual assault, homicide, money laundering, and all other felonies. Mr. Momot is AV rated in the Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory, signifying an achievement of the highest level of legal ability and adherence to the professional standards of conduct, ethics, reliability and diligence.  Mr. Momot also devotes his efforts to helping future attorneys hone their skills in litigation. Mr. Momot has been a Trial Advocacy Defense Mentor to many law students at the William S. Boyd School of Law.  Mr. Momot is a patron of the arts. He enjoys fine art, theater, and dance. Mr. Momot has always had an appreciation for the entertainment industry. He too is somewhat of an entertainer, aside from his appearances in court, Mr. Momot has also made several appearances in movies. Mr. Momot is a member of the Screen Actors Guild.
