Joseph Fortunato graduated Magna Cum Laude from Pace Law School. During law school, he was on Law Review, a teaching assistant to several professors and interned at the United States Attorney’s Office in the Southern District of New York. Before joining KDLM, Joseph began his career as a prosecutor in the Brooklyn District Attorney’s Office. During his time as a prosecutor, he was lead counsel on numerous trials and investigated and indicted hundreds of crimes ranging from robbery to murder. After two and half years with the District Attorney’s Office, Joseph joins a prominent defense firm specializing in negligence and construction accidents. He goes on to represent some of the largest construction managers, general contractors, and property owners in New York City in accident-related claims. As counsel to these companies, he would often be notified to investigate accidents by coordinating with investigators, witnesses, and experts to develop a liability strategy to properly defend potential claims. As an associate for KDLM, Joseph handles negligence cases involving construction accidents, motor vehicle accidents and general liability throughout the process of litigation.
