Many of her jury awards have been record setting, include a 2.3 million dollar jury verdict against a local Maryland hospital â€“ one of the largest wrongful death cases received by a female attorney in Baltimore city; a 4 million dollar jury verdict in Frederick County- the largest jury verdict ever received in a malpractice case in Frederick County; and a 5.36 million dollar jury verdict for a medical malpractice/wrongful death case in Washington, D.C.- the largest jury verdict ever received in the District of Columbia for a medical malpractice wrongful death case.
Ms. Arfaa is highly sought after for her ability to litigate cases involving brain injury, cerebral palsy, and birth injury caused by the negligent care of health care providers during labor and/or delivery. In July 2012, she received a 21 million dollar verdict in Baltimore city against a local physician and hospital for their negligent care during a childâ€™s delivery (which led to his cerebral palsy). Similarly, in May 2013, Ms. Arfaa received a 15.65 million dollar verdict against another local hospital and physician for negligent care during labor and delivery which led to a childâ€™s cerebral palsy. These two verdicts are the second and third largest jury verdicts in the state for birth injuries received as a result of medical negligence.

Ms. Arfaa received her B.A. degree from Smith College in 1994 and her law degree, with honors, from the Syracuse University College of Law in 1997.
