Julie Shipman-Burns is a partner in the McCord & Burns Law Firm. She practices primarily in the area of Workers' Compensation law where she litigates numerous cases each year. Julie has assisted hundreds of injured workers during her legal career, and has recovered millions of dollars in benefits for her injured clients to help compensate them for their injuries and losses.

Julie received her Bachelor of Science degree from Nebraska Wesleyan University in 1987. Prior to this, Julie attended nursing school. Following her graduation from Wesleyan University, Julie began her legal studies at the University of Nebraska College of Law where she earned her Juris Doctorate degree in 1990. Following graduation from law school, Julie began practicing personal injury law in Lincoln. Julie's nursing background and legal education make a perfect combination for personal injury law.

Julie is recognized as an authority on Workers' Compensation matters, and has lectured at a number of conferences and seminars for professional groups and associations on that subject. She is a member of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, serves on the Board of Directors of The Nebraska Association of Trial Attorneys, is a member of the Legislative Committee for NATA, and is a member of both the Nebraska State Bar Association and Lincoln Bar Association. Julie is also a past member of the National Trial Advocacy Team for the University of Nebraska College of Law. Julie has recently been elected to serve as an officer in NATA (Nebraska Association of Trial Attorneys) and will serve as president of that organization in 2006. This organization has as its members some of the most outstanding trial lawyers in the State of Nebraska, and works diligently each year to help preserve and protect the rights of injured people. Julie's election to this prestigious office is confirmation by her fellow lawyers in Nebraska of her ability and dedication to the practice of trial law.
