Julie McGrath Throop is a licensed Nevada lawyer specializing in personal injury and workers compensation. She was born in Reno, Nevada in 1979. She is fifth generation Northern Nevadan. She graduated from Robert McQueen High School in 1997 with honors. She went to University of Nevada, Reno and graduated with high honors in 2001 with a Bachelors of Arts in Journalism with an emphasis in Advertising. Mrs. Throop returned to the University of Nevada for two more years of course work in pre-medicine. She went to law school in 2005, and she graduated from University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law in 2008. She passed the Nevada Bar Exam on her first attempt in the Summer of 2008. Mrs. Throop has worked for Terry Friedman, LTD, since 1998. Before she became a lawyer, she started at the law office as a receptionist and file clerk. Over the years, she has worked in every aspect of the business, and now has trial and litigation experience as a lawyer. Mrs. Throop's favorite part of being a lawyer is getting to work closely with her clients to help them understand the system and to achieve the best result possible out of the system for her clients. Mrs. Throop belongs to the following organizations: American Association for Justice, Nevada Justice Association, Washoe County Bar Association, Young Lawyers Division, American Bar Association, and The National Association of Professional Women. Mrs. Throop knows the importance of giving back to her community, and she is involved in many programs, including Junior League of Reno. Ms. Throop volunteers to help women and children in need in our community. Mrs. Throop is married with a daughter, lives in Reno, Nevada, and has three dogs. She enjoys fitness, the outdoors, camping and backpacking/hiking in her free time, which makes Northern Nevada the place to be.
