LeAnn has the Knowledge to Fight Unfair Accusations and Harsh Penalties LeAnn E. Schumann earned her Bachelor of Arts with Honors in Criminal Justice and a Minor in African American Studies from the University of Wyoming. She completed this monumental task while working full-time as a certified nursing assistant. LeAnnâ€™s passion for the law led her to pursue law school at the University of Wyoming College of Law. There she interned at the Domestic Violence Legal Assistance Project and ultimately became the Student Director.
After finishing law school in Wyoming, LeAnn relocated to Nevada to be closer to family. Once there she began to serve as Deputy District Attorney for Mineral County. As a Deputy District Attorney, she fairly prosecuted misdemeanors, gross misdemeanors, and felony offenses, including DUIâ€™s, domestic battery and drug offenses. During her tenure, her office was awarded numerous grants from the Nevada Attorney Generalâ€™s Office for investigative assistance in sexual assault cases, as well as specialized officer training.
LeAnn Now Calls Jesse Kalter Law, P.C. her Home In January 2014, LeAnn accepted an associate position with Wayne A. Pederson, P.C. in Yerington, Nevada. She practiced for over three years primarily in criminal defense, family law, probate law, and estate planning. In June 2017, she joined Johnston Law Offices, P.C. with the intent of expanding her practice into civil litigation. While learning this, she continued to practice criminal defense, family law, probate law, and estate planning.
In April 2019, she proudly joined Jesse Kalter Law, P.C. and now practices in Washoe County, Carson City, and all neighboring rural counties. She was welcomed with open arms due to her extensive legal experience litigating numerous jury trials, bench trials, contested divorce and custody hearings, probate hearings, and appeals. She has earned a successful record in contentious civil and criminal matters through a vigorous defense of her clientâ€™s rights. She is an aggressive attorney, yet compassionate towards her clientâ€™s needs, making herself regularly available to her clients and returning calls within 24 hours.
LeAnn is the first attorney in her family. She lives with her husband and three children and actively participates in her community, including volunteering legal services to veterans in need of estate planning.
