Lou Accurso is the founder of The Accurso Law Firm.  His national reputation for successfully pursuing products liability cases and extensive jury trial experience is undisputed.     Accurso has won 12 jury verdicts in excess of $1,000,000 – nine since 1998 and eight multi-million dollar verdicts – two of $10,000,000 or more.  He has received the largest settlement in the State of Missouri for $15,000,000 in 1998; the largest settlement in the State of Missouri for $13,000,000 in 2004; and 25 cash settlements of $1,000,000 in the past 10-years.    His astonishing record earned Accurso the Martindale-Hubbell AV rating; the Lon O. Hocker Memorial Trial Lawyer Award 1990, given annually by the judiciary to the outstanding trial attorney in the State of Missouri under age 36; Member of Outstanding Lawyers in America; Kansas City Business Journal “Best of the Bar,” 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2005; and Top 100 Missouri/Kansas Super Lawyer 2005.    He is licensed to practice in State of Missouri; the United States Court of Appeals, 8th and 11th Circuits; and the United States Supreme Court.  Accurso is a member of the Missouri Bar Association, American Bar Association, Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association, Association of Trial Lawyers of America, Chairman of the Gas, Fire and Explosion Litigation Group; and Missouri Association of Trial Attorneys, Member of the Board of Governors.  Prior to founding his firm in 1988, Accurso was an associate with the Law Firm of Spradley, Wirken, Riesmeyer & King and worked as a trial attorney with the Jackson County Prosecutor's Office.  As a trial attorney for Jackson County, he tried numerous felony jury trials, including burglary, rape, robbery, homicide and arson, and he also obtained and maintained the highest conviction rate for arson prosecution in the United States.   Accurso has a J.D. from the University of Missouri, Kansas City and a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Missouri, Kansas City.
