Marcy Croft has over 20 years of experience litigating complex cases in difficult jurisdictions including, but not limited to, mass tort, product liability, personal injury, and unfair trade practice matters.

Marcy has served as local, regional, and national counsel for many Fortune 500 companies in actions involving environmental and occupational exposures and is recognized as one of the nation’s leading mass tort defense attorneys. She was placed on the inaugural “Top 250 Female Litigators in America” list by Benchmark Litigation and has earned an AV Preeminent rating year after year. She was also recently included in the Top 50: Mississippi Super Lawyers and Women Mid-South Super Lawyers honors; and, she has been included in Portico Jackson Magazine’s “Portico 10,” recognized by The Best Lawyers in America®, and is listed on Martindale-Hubbell’s “Bar Register of Preeminent Women Lawyers.”

Marcy's presence in the courtroom is unmatched and her ability to develop and implement complex strategies through all stages of litigation and trial has provided her clients with successful outcomes ranging from thousands of pre-trial dismissals to winning trial verdicts. As the head of Maron Marvel’s Fraud, Investigation, and Internal Auditing department (“FIA”), she was a pioneer in the utilization of investigation and auditing techniques in the field of mass tort litigation, uncovering and exposing misconduct that parlayed into millions of dollars of relief and savings for her clients.

Marcy served as counsel of record for more than 40 global corporate defendants in MDL 875, and as coordinating counsel for the defense liaison committee when her firm led the attack on screening related fraud in that court obtaining over 100,000 dismissals for her clients. Marcy has an unparalleled ability to recognize hidden patterns of fraud within mass filings and voluminous discovery and has worked with clients to develop safe guards to minimizing frivolous litigation and claims. Armed with analytical gusto, inexhaustible research ability, and a deep understanding of the rule of law, Marcy’s skills have also served her well as the head of the firm's jury selection group. Most notably, Marcy served as lead Mississippi counsel and obtained a defense verdict on retrial, after the Mississippi Supreme Court vacated a $322 million verdict—due to an undisclosed conflict of interest uncovered by her team. Marcy possesses extensive experience in creating cost-efficient defense strategies to manage mass tort litigation and implementing those strategies through a client’s national network of local counsel. She also conducts and oversees complex investigations and the analysis of various sources of intelligence providing extensive risk assessments to detect fraud.

In addition to managing and litigating complex matters, Marcy has a passion for defending civil liberties. She has been involved with supporting women's rights to equal pay and the right to choose and has volunteered with the Mississippi chapter of the ACLU. Marcy also serves as counsel to the movement to modernize the current Mississippi state flag with the new Stennis Flag.
