Mark Copoulos is the founder of the Law Office of Mark D. Copoulos. Out of law school Copoulos perceived a market for a practical, business oriented legal representation at reasonable prices, and a need for lawyers who could relate to everyday people. Copoulos realized his vision, trying cases with uncommon success in Philadelphia Municipal Court, Landlord-Tenant Court, Small Claims Court, and the Court of Common Pleas. His success is manifested by awards like the “Top 40 Under 40 Award†received in 2018, and the “Top 100 Criminal Defense Lawyers†received in 2016. He has garnered over one hundred five star reviews. His progress is indicative of Copoulos’ superior performance in criminal and civil law, which is a product of his commitment to his clients’ and excellence.
Copoulos began his practice representing individuals charged with serious crimes from Driving Under the Influence, Receiving Stolen Property, Unauthorized Use of Motor Vehicles, Assault and Attempted Murder. From there he began to focus on property matters such as landlord-tenant evictions, ejectments, petitions to redeem, tenant defense and related matters. Slowly this practice began to develop into even more substantive and intensive litigation including significant civil defense matters. Today Copoulos handles a wide variety of cases from Driving Under the Influence to evictions and civil defense. If he has not personally handled cases like yours he may bring in counsel or point you in the direction of another lawyer. Copoulos only refers cases to attorneys with a similar ethos of total commitment, excellent service and reasonable flat rates.
Since college Copoulos’ work ethic has been unparalleled. At age sixteen his father told him he must get a job so he embraced manual labor working on farms and in the service industry. He worked through college as a desk assistant, resident assistant, restaurant server and student body senator. His work capacity eventually impelled Copoulos to a standout career at the University of Arizona, becoming student body senator, mock trial treasurer, and graduating on the Dean’s List. At college Mark won several mock trial awards including Most Outstanding Trial Attorney at multiple competitions. Copoulos won the election for student body senator by standing for hours on the lawn talking to students about problems that could be addressed. After the election he founded a textbook buyback program that paid students to repurchase used textbooks.
While in law school Copoulos was selected to the Moot Court Board and National Trial Competition Team. Academically his finished in the top half of his class. From a young age Copoulos has maintained a commitment to physical excellence earning a black belt in Tae Kwon Do, spending hours per week running, lifting weights and practicing yoga. Copoulos interned for multiple Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas judges and the District Attorney in 2010. In 2011 Copoulos passed the Pennsylvania and New Jersey Bar. Copoulos then started his practice. His office is located at Eight Penn Center, 1628 John F. Kennedy Blvd., Suite 1301, Philadelphia, PA 19103.
