Philosophy of Defense
You want to hire an attorney to help with a legal issue, and Mark Solomon believes his clients deserve to be treated like family. He understands that the legal process is not as simple as some would want it to be - oftentimes, no easy answer exists. However, Mark Solomon spends the time required to explain the concepts needed for his clients to make informed choices in their case. A good, well-reasoned decision is key to being able to live choices clients make.
Through investigation and careful scrutiny of discovery, Mark Solomon's clients make choices they can live with. Making decisions through fear is not good, so Mark Solomon helps to dispel fear through reason and calculated risk assessment. His legal career has focused exclusively on criminal defense, beginning in the criminal legal clinic student law office at Denver University Law School. He was an intern with the Colorado State Public Defender in Douglas County, Co. He worked as a public defender in Kentucky handling all sorts of misdemeanors and felony cases.
Former Assistant Public Defender
From October 2009 to November 2011, Mark Solomon was an assistant public defender working in Boyd County, Kentucky, District Court (misdemeanors and preliminary hearings), and Circuit Court (felony cases). In 2010, Mark Solomon had the highest caseload of any public defender in the Commonwealth of Kentucky, and his caseload did not significantly decrease in 2011.
