Matthew Patrick Meyers, Esq. was born in Oakland, California and moved to Florida at a young age, making him an official â€œTransplant Floridian.â€ After spending his formative years in Orlando, Mr. Meyers lived in Tallahassee while attending Florida State University and Jacksonville while in law school. Upon graduation and passing the Florida Bar Exam, Matt moved to South Florida as he accepted a position as an Assistant State Attorney for the 11th Judicial Circuit in Miami.
While with the State Attorneyâ€™s Office, Mr. Meyers prosecuted cases from misdemeanors to serious felonies including homicide and sexual battery, where he gained invaluable litigation and trial experience. After leaving the State Attorneyâ€™s Office, Mr. Meyers worked as a solo practitioner in criminal defense, and later expanded to assist homeowners and contractors in their dealings with insurance companies. It is his litigation experience and tenacity that has resulted in significant recovery from insurance companies on behalf of his clients.
Matt currently serves as the President-Elect of the Miami Chapter of the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and is a member of the Dade County Bar Association. Matt was named one of the Top 40 Under 40 Outstanding Lawyers in South Florida in 2018 by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, The National Trial Lawyers Top 40 Under 40 for 2019, and the 2018-2019 Presidentâ€™s Award for FACDL-Miami. He is admitted to practice in the State of Florida, U.S. District Courts for the Middle and Southern Districts of Florida, and the U.S. 11th Circuit Court of Appeals.
