Michael Mauro came to Burg Simpson by way of the Office of the 18th Judicial District Attorney, where he spent the first five years of his career prosecuting criminal actions on behalf of the People of Colorado. He passionately fought to achieve justice for the victims of crime in Arapahoe, Douglas, Elbert, and Lincoln Counties. During his time as a prosecutor, Mr. Mauro conducted 65 jury trials on cases ranging in complexity from intoxicated driving to sex offenses to homicides. Also a licensed certified public accountant, holding masters’ degrees in accounting and business administration, Mr. Mauro brings unique experience and expertise to the litigation of complex commercial matters. A lifelong resident of Colorado, Mr. Mauro moved from Pueblo in 2006 to attend college at the University of Denver on the prestigious Boettcher Foundation scholarship. He stayed at DU for business graduate school and law school. Outside the courtroom and the office, Mr. Mauro enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter, playing tennis, and traveling.
